Its diversity, the relief of its colourful and charming landscapes from the beaches of the Mediterranean via the Albères, the last Eastern link of the chain of the Pyrénées to the summit of Canigou continuing up to the buttresses of the Cathar Castles; so many sites so rich in history where Roman art prefigures (chapels, cloisters, monasteries) that will surely delight you.
A stone’s throw from Collioure, known for its anchovies, the birthplace of Fauvism with its bright colours and where the royal château and its church sit opposite the sea. Come and discover our old Catalan villages, the fortifications and ramparts or forts and towns including Villefranche de Conflent “the fortified town”, from where you can take the little yellow train for a trip that will take you to a solar oven.
At 25km from the Spanish border, 50km from Figueras and the unmissable Dali museum, you could also discover the wonderful city of Barcelona, 2 hours from Argelès and the Sagrada Familia, Gaudi’s must-see cathedral and Guell Park.
